The Burien Wellness Cluster has the participation of local educational institutions.
 
Highline Community College offers several health-based curriculum programs:
Respiratory Therapy
Personal Fitness Trainer
Nurse Assistant Certified
Medical Assistant
Medical Transcriptionist
Patient Account Specialist
Medical Insurance Coding
Nurse (RN) & LPN to RN
Polysomnography (sleep disorders)
Home Care Aid
Chemical Dependency Professional

Puget Sound Skills Center offers programs for high school students to become dental assistants and nursing assistants with a new Nursing Assistant Certified program that began this fall.

Health Sciences and Human Services High School (HS3) prepares students for college with an emphasis in exploring healthcare and human service careers.

These institutions support Burien Wellness's mission of encouraging local students to become highly-qualified healthcare professionals who choose to live and work in Burien.

The educational institutions and local healthcare providers have partnered in many ways since this wellness cluster was created in November of 2007.  Partnerships between member organizations have positively impacted the programs in the educational institutions.
